There has not been much activity here, other than the loud noises that always seem to happen in the night in the middle of the hot season. The sounds are far away and they don’t really scare me. Thunder scares me more.
Agent Trouble caused a bit of amusement when she scared herself on a little fake mouse. It wasn’t even the correct color for a mouse but she jumped almost her height when she saw it. I must explain that she was rolling around on the floor in the front room, I’m not sure why, exactly. Anyway, she rolled over and jumped up in fear over that bedraggled green fake mouse. I believe the humans make those for us to give us something to do. I have to admit that they are fun to toss around. A real mouse would be more fun and challenging, but the humans don’t seem to like them.
To be fair, I am not accusing Agent Trouble of cowardice, but it was very funny to watch her jump at the sight of that mouse.
We have a new contact that comes to visit this place. He is a black cat and says that his name is Buster. I haven’t seen Calli in a while, but I am not certain that Buster is our new contact. He seems very pushy and I have had to speak sharply to him several times. Is he our new contact and has Calli been reassigned? If he is not our new contact, then who is he? He asks a lot of questions about our work here.

I was going to report that Agent Pica and I have been getting along much better lately, but given her rush to embarrass me, oh well, we have been getting along better since the removal of Agents Luna and Storm. I suppose it was funny to see me become startled by that fake mouse. I knew it was there of course, I just didn’t realize that I was as close to it as I was. The female human says that the day is not good unless you make someone smile or laugh. I made both humans and Agent Pica laugh, so I suppose I am good for a few days. for the record, I was trying to appear disinterested in the humans’ activity without feigning sleep.
As for Buster, I am not convinced that he is an agent. He may be a youngster who would like to join the service. If this turns out to be the case, please send the required forms so that we can get him started in his training. As for Agent Pica’s sharp words, she didn’t have to scream at him at six this morning. The swearing was completely unnecessary. She annoyed the female human as well as me. I must say, though, Buster’s habit of suddenly appearing is very disconcerting and somewhat alarming so perhaps her obscenities were not unexpected.
The loud noises are particularly annoying this year.
