Agent Probie just left. I knew this would happen. He wanted my support. I told him I had already provided you with my recommendations. Had he asked me what they were, I would have told him, but he only nodded. I don’t know what to make of that.

I don’t know if he assumed I supported Agent Zoe or if he was acknowledging my right to keep my opinion to myself. I suppose it doesn’t matter. I may have to tell Agent Zoe whose side I’m on. I prefer to think I’m on neither side but I know that my opinion will not appear that way.

Right after I wrote the above paragraph, Agent Zoe came in. Her only purpose was to state her belief that Agent Probie has overstepped his bounds. I don’t know why she’s so upset. If she wants me to be Senior Agent or Clowder Leader, I can only assume she doesn’t want either post for herself. So why does she care that Agent Probie stepped up to take control? If you were to ask me, she doesn’t care who takes control as long as it isn’t Agent Probie. I don’t understand her thinking.

I’m too smart to say that though. I do not want to be drawn into their quarrel. I want to organize the reports and take my shifts at observing the humans. I don’t think a desire for peace in the clowder is that much to ask for.

It has been a few days now. The fighting has become a problem. I’m the only one doing the observations. Agent Probie is trying to establish a routine where he can cover the shifts. Agent Zoe is doing everything in her power to disrupt that. Each of them is demanding I take a stand. I want them to leave me alone. Why can’t they see that? I also want one of them to help with the observations. There are too many humans for one cat to watch at all times.

All I can do is ask again that you make a decision and tell them who you think should be Senior Agent. I realize there is nothing you can do about the Clowder Leader position as that is a clowder matter. I will ask the two of them to call an election so we can vote. Agent Probie will vote for himself. Agent Zoe will vote for me and I will vote for Agent Probie. That’s the only recourse there. I want to organize the records in peace.

Please direct them to pay attention to their duties. In my opinion, I am the only one doing any observation. Who knows what nefarious plots the humans have take under consideration. I may be missing something vital. I stand by my belief that Agent Probie

is the best candidate for Senior Agent. He is doing his best to work out a new duty schedule, but Agent Zoe doesn’t recognize his authority. She is pressing me to do a duty schedule. That’s a waste of my time. Duplication of tasks is not efficient.

I will admit finding Crispin was more of a challenge than I had anticipated. It wasn’t just the lovely weather and feeling of freedom that had me staying out so long. I needed to locate an agent adept at evading capture. Getting the reporting equipment to him was important and I took the responsibility seriously. I know Agent Probie had his doubts about my capability outside, but he didn’t try to dissuade me. I know we have had our differences, but I don’t believe he wanted to see me fail. I don’t think he wants me dead either. He’ll do well as Senior Agent. Well, he is the most experienced of us all here. I know Agent Zoe had the idea that I should be Senior Agent but I can do without the headaches. Agent Probie is welcome to them. I’m content to do my duties as they are scheduled. I did look at the schedule Agent Probie worked out and as much as I would like to find fault with it, I can’t. The schedule is fair and that’s all there is to it. If I’m honest, and I am trying to be, I worried that he would lighten my load. My load is lighter, but only because we have Agent Winnie now. He’s a good, reliable cat. I looked at his work in the Archives and I must say he’s doing a great job there. I hadn’t thought to organize the reports. It makes it easier to see who reported what and when. I told him. I also told Agent Probie who told me my input was both welcome and helpful. That’s another reason I support Agent Probie as Senior Agent.

About

I am not one who is comfortable talking about myself but here goes. I enjoy writing, family history, and reading. I decided to do this blog because I wanted to try something new. I decided to make it a weekly blog because I wasn't sure that I could keep up with a daily one, and monthly seemed like I was writing a magazine. I think I did ok with my choices. You'll notice that there are not a lot of graphics on my site. That's because there are graphics plastered everywhere on the Internet and those sites sometimes take forever to load. This blog is a place where you can kick back, relax and be ready to be amused. At least I hope I willbamuse you. This blog is on a variety of subjects from my ficitional cat agency, the FFL, which is monthly, to instructional blogs to editorials, which are my opinions only. I admit that I don't know everything and could be wrong -- I frequently am. Now, stop reading about me and read what I have to say!
