Feline Freedom League February 2022 Report

From: Agent Probie
To: Mr. Whiskers
Date: 6 February 2022
Subject: Mission Report

It may not be clear from our reports, but things are somewhat chaotic here. It has been so since the death of Agent Smudge. We don’t seem to be making any progress in our endeavors.

I think I know why. We have no leadership and we need it. As the eldest cat here, I have the experience and seniority to assume the leadership role. So I have started doing that. In this report, I’m asking you to name me senior agent as we have never named one after the death of Agent Cuddlebug.

What we have done, was drift. That’s why we don’t seem to have the sense of camaraderie and focus, this clowder used to have. Three agents are enough. We do not need any more agents. I’m stressing that because it may seem as though we have too many duties for us to do. It’s a matter of scheduling, not personnel. I’ll start working on a schedule as soon as you inform us of my appointment as Senior Agent.
I’m making this a formal request because I know Zoe will object. I’m the eldest here and I need to step up and take the reins of leadership. Agent Zoe is a good agent. But I have the necessary experience. I have seen the leadership of the late agents, Storm, Luna and Cuddlebug. Not to mention Agent Smudge who was our unofficial Senior Agent for so long.

I plan to make it clear to the other two agents in this posting that this is not a power grab. I’m doing this for the good of the clowder and our mission. Agent Zoe may feel that I’m overstepping. But in all honesty, I am the best candidate for Senior Agent because I have been here the longest. She should realize that. My experience makes me the best candidate as well.

I have had the chance to view many different leadership styles. That experience helps me to figure out what works best with subordinate agents. I’ve been a subordinate agent for several seasons. So I understand what I need to do and how to do it.

I’ve already begun to make some decisions in the way of directing the others. I don’t think I will have any trouble with them about being Senior Agent. It’s more a matter of being diplomatic. I can do that.
I am certain that having official designation will make my job as Senior Agent much easier. Agents Skittlebutt and Zoe will accept it without protest. Agent Winnie is laid-back. While he is quite capable of the role, as his elder, I am the obvious choice. I am more familiar with the humans in this place as well.

I’ve already begun to make some decisions in the way of directing the others. I don’t think I will have any trouble with them about being Senior Agent. It’s more a matter of being diplomatic. I can do that. It’s been difficult, since Agent Skittlebutt left to take supplies to a roving agent.

I wish his departure could have waited until Agent Winnie had time to acclimate before Agent Skittlebutt left.

I am certain that having official designation will make my job as Senior Agent much easier. Agents Winnie and Zoe will accept it without protest. I’m not as certain about Agent Skittlebutt, but I believe he will come around in time.

Agent Winnie is laid-back. While he is quite capable of the role, as his elder, I am the obvious choice. I am more familiar with the humans in this place as well. So please tell us of your decision of who should be Senior Agent as soon as you can. It will go a long way towards making the Senior Agent’s task of taking control easier, regardless of who you choose.

About

I am not one who is comfortable talking about myself but here goes. I enjoy writing, family history, and reading. I decided to do this blog because I wanted to try something new. I decided to make it a weekly blog because I wasn't sure that I could keep up with a daily one, and monthly seemed like I was writing a magazine. I think I did ok with my choices. You'll notice that there are not a lot of graphics on my site. That's because there are graphics plastered everywhere on the Internet and those sites sometimes take forever to load. This blog is a place where you can kick back, relax and be ready to be amused. At least I hope I willbamuse you. This blog is on a variety of subjects from my ficitional cat agency, the FFL, which is monthly, to instructional blogs to editorials, which are my opinions only. I admit that I don't know everything and could be wrong -- I frequently am. Now, stop reading about me and read what I have to say!
