Subject: Mission Report

I have decided to eavesdrop on the human conversations. I believe they will tell me what the pond is for if I pretend to sleep. That is, I think they will talk about it if they believe I am asleep. To that end, I found myself spending a great deal of time lying around the humans while they talk. They don’t talk much about the pond. They do refer to something they call a pool. I resolved to find out what that was and report on it.

After a while, I realized they were talking about the pond and calling it a pool. Armed with that term, I turned to the magic box that gives information. I learned that a pool was a water place like a pond, but made by humans so they can go swimming. I then learned that swimming was the method of propelling oneself through water. I cannot contemplate the idea of immersing myself in the stuff to do anything. Humans seems to like doing it as a form of bathing, most likely because their tongues are inadequate to the task of bathing.

Anyway, the humans use pools to cool off. I can’t think why. They keep this den cool without dousing everything with water. I am grateful for that. The heat is not tolerable, but water would be so much worse. So I decided to watch the humans when they go in the pool. The elder female moves as though she were walking. I don’t know the purpose but she refers to it as exercising.

I gather exercising is a way for humans to stay healthy. The other two splash around in the pool and sometimes just float there. They even go under the surface. I’m astonished they haven’t drowned. They have said nothing about drowning us. This leads me to wonder if that is their plan or if they just want to use the pool for exercise or to cool down or even bathe. I cannot be certain of that conclusion so I will remain vigilant in case they decide to do so.

I would like to say how much I appreciate the information on the classes available to those agents in the field. I think the one on forensic procedures might be quite useful in my investigation of the pool. I am certain I will be able to learn more about what the pool’s purpose might be, assuming it isn’t just a place for humans to play in water. The other course I would like to take Living With Humans, what to expect. May I ask why that class wasn’t mandatory at the academy? In my opinion that sounds like a good class for preparing agents for the field. I am only sorry there isn’t a class on human behavior. Is that because we don’t know enough about human behavior to have such a class. If there is any information I should be looking for. I would like to find something that will further our knowledge of human behavior, please let me know and I will try to find it.
