Feline Freedom League February 2020

The odd pond bothers me. I can’t even say why. It is in a room made of the window thing that lets air in but doesn’t allow us out. We are not always allowed out there. I keep watch though. I feel it has some kind of importance.

Every so often, a human comes and does something with it. I have not been able to get a good view of what he does. He doesn’t stay long, just does whatever it is he does and then he leaves in one of the shiny boxes humans travel in. His isn’t as shiny and it’s bigger than the one our humans travel in. I can discern no pattern to his coming and going. I only know he’s there when I see him. Sometimes I hear the box arrive, but that’s all. I do not know why he comes or exactly what he does. The humans who live here don’t appear concerned. All I know is the pond’s odd odor is greater after he has been there.
I seem to be the only feline here who wonders what the humans are planning to do with the pond. The unnatural smell is disgusting. I don’t like it. I don’t think my colleagues like it either. They leave the back of the house for the front when the odor is the strongest. That’s when I try to watch more. Nothing happens, but you never know. I must figure out why the pond is there. I’ve never seen one before coming to this place.

Although I am the only one who feels foreboding connected to the pond, I will continue to work on finding out its purpose. I will ensure that we are never placed in the icky water. That is what I fear the humans may be contemplating. They may be considering putting us in the pond. I would not like that one bit. They may even be planning to drown us. So I do not believe we can ignore this potential danger with any safety. I have not been able to persuade anyone to help me in my investigations. So I will go it alone.
My plan is to keep watch and see what the humans do with the pond. The human don’t seem to allow canines in it either, not that I could see why they would want to. Who would want to smell like that water? It does stink. Then again, canines are strange creatures, almost as strange as humans. I maintain a good relationship with a couple of them. I believe they are working with the humans against us, even though they appear to be prisoners as well. The humans allow them out of the habitation, although usually not by the pond. I have tried to get information from them about the pond, but they only call it the strange smelling water.

The largest canine always wants to swim in it. The whole idea makes my fur stand on end. I could never contemplate it. I will find out what the pond is for.

About

I am not one who is comfortable talking about myself but here goes. I enjoy writing, family history, and reading. I decided to do this blog because I wanted to try something new. I decided to make it a weekly blog because I wasn't sure that I could keep up with a daily one, and monthly seemed like I was writing a magazine. I think I did ok with my choices. You'll notice that there are not a lot of graphics on my site. That's because there are graphics plastered everywhere on the Internet and those sites sometimes take forever to load. This blog is a place where you can kick back, relax and be ready to be amused. At least I hope I willbamuse you. This blog is on a variety of subjects from my ficitional cat agency, the FFL, which is monthly, to instructional blogs to editorials, which are my opinions only. I admit that I don't know everything and could be wrong -- I frequently am. Now, stop reading about me and read what I have to say!
