I must report on the torture the humans have begun practicing on us. They open the clear holes but we are still imprisoned inside this place. The clear holes are usually covered with stiff stuff that lets nothing in but muted sounds although we can see the outside. That is bad enough, but now they open the stiff part and there is still something that covers the hole. It lets in the sounds better and allows us to smell the outside. It is a terrible torture to be so close to freedom and yet so far away.

It is agony. The birds smell so succulent, but we can’t get to them. Why do the humans do this to us? It is not kind. I do smell canines though. I have heard them often, but now the stench is overwhelming. It almost spoils the lovely smells coming in through the holes. I want to run out there and snag a bird for breakfast, but I am still a prisoner. They guard the doors even more when they have this torture in place.

This place has stiff holes that come almost to our level. We do not need to climb up to see out these holes. There is not much to see out there, just humans and canines. The little canine that is here to plague us goes outside but we are not allowed out. The humans have opened the stiffness, but there is still something that prevents us from leaving this place over the hole. It is truly a torture to smell the outside and not be able to explore it.

Agent Storm never even tries to go out through the holes. I hear canines that must be larger than that sorry excuse that lives with us. they are obviously there to prevent our escape. However, I do believe that some clever claw work would send them packing. I would like the opportunity.

Subject: The Outside
I have been outside before and there is nothing there that we need concern ourselves with. Agent Mulder has forgotten that he has no claws to use in his defense should he meet with any canines other than that annoying little rat.

Subject: Going Outside
I agree with Agent Luna, there is nothing of interest outside. We won’t learn anything about the humans by going outside. All we would get is dirty paws.

Subject: Outside
Going outside is all well and good, but we seem to have lost sight of our instructions which were to find out all that we can about the humans. I agree with Agent Cuddlebug, we would not achieve that by going outside.

I think you are all cowards. We should not be thinking of the Outside, but how best to defeat our captors. We need to get out of here so that we can work to free our fellow felines in captivity. I think the stuff covering the holes is thinner and we could break through if we work at it.

I have been alone here since the death of my new partner. He was quite elderly and I wish that I had had more time to learn from him. The human I am posted with is torturing me with the sounds and scents of the outside. I was once allowed to roam outside, but those days are gone. The family I lived with are gone. I don’t know where. This torture should be banned. Can we not come to some agreement with the humans about this?

Subject: Your Instructions
No one is to make the attempt to go outside. We have outside agents covering that. you missions are to study the humans who hold you captive and report on them so that we can amass as much information as possible. Agent Princess, we are working on getting you a new partner, but these things take time. as for your suggestion re negotiations, we cannot and will not negotiate with humans.
