I left my observation post at the appropriate time, per the schedule. I made my way to the archive. I found that the stack of reports I finished reorganized that morning on the floor. Not sitting on the floor, but scattered all over it. Agent Sadie was doing her best to gather them up. I asked what happened and discovered to my horror she was crying.
I realized that she lived in fear of me. Me! I did my best to soothe her distress. I told her to stop gathering the reports and to sit down. I told her I was certain the knocking over of the stack of reports was an accident and didn’t blame her.
If it’s anyone’s fault, it’s mine. I told her that. I should have secrured the stack before leaving it. That is on me and I made sure to stress that to her.
This is why, trying to be conciliatory, I spent several hours working with Agent Sadie. together, we worked to reorganize the fallen stack. Between us, we restored it to order. at that point, I put the stack, in stack form into a drawer. I told Agent Sadie I would finish reorganizing and then filing the reports later. We were both tired and needed rest. I left her with a smile on her face. That made me feel good. I hope I can help her to overcome her clumsiness. I have made a start. I advised her to slow down a bit and her clumsiness will decrease. Did she agreed with me? I’m not sure.

Agent Probie delights in telling me I asked for the aggravation. He has, I’ll admit, asked the other agents to help me with training the kittens. They are quite boisterous. Agent Winnie, in particular, doesn’t enjoy their presence. He did find a young female who seems to enjoy reading. He is training her as an archivist. I do not see how that will assist her in her pursuit of admission to the Academy. Still, I am grateful for his help with the others.
I also must agree with Agent Probie that Agent Sadie seems happier left to her own duties. She also seems to be happy working with the archives. I don’t understand the lure of the archives. It seems a waste of time.
Agent Winnie told me we can learn a lot from the archives. He has set some the kittens to reading a few of the reports posted by agents who are no longer here. I don’t understand why he thinks that will be helpful.
I didn’t appreciate it when one of my students questioned me. The questions were all about a report submitted to headquarters by an Agent named Luna. I had to admit I had never heard of Agent Luna. Agent Probie, who was passing, enthralled the youngsters with tales of Agent Luna. The kitten was attentive as he reminisced about her. I still have no idea who she was. Agent Probie told me to read some of her reports in the archives as she was a brave and intelligent agent.
