Yesterday was a good day. Soot passed all his exams. He is a trained outdoor agent. He will take a territory near hear and has promised to keep me appraised of his progress. He did me proud. I’m happy to pass on his assigned territory. I’m also pleased to accept the position of team leader for outdoor agents in my area. Soot will be reporting to me since his territory will be within my region.

I am also pleased to announce the arrival of my new student, Butternut. She is eager to begin her studies as an external agent. She is already well grounding in finding food and shelter. She informs me her mother was an experienced outdoor cat. Butternut will be an excellent addition to our cause.

The other agents in my team beside Soot, will be Blackie, Tabitha, Marco, and Saucy. They are all agents who have come by when they had some reports in the past.

In fact, Blackie has reported that my humans are not alone in staging what appear to be trees indoors. He put forth the theory that this is their yearly tribute to our Mother, the Earth. I’m not so sure. There is a different reason. I didn’t pay enough attention to the ritual either. I’m not sure that Blackie is not correct.
We need to do some further investigation, as the ritual seems to be complete for this year. I have added it to my agenda for the cold time next year.

I must admit to a certain amount of frustration. My agents are not working with me. I do not know if that is my fault or not. I suspect there may be a bit of fault to put on me, but I don’t know how I came to that. I should clarify that, the agent who has been giving me the most trouble is Agent Zoe. I finally came up with a schedule of duty that will please all my agents. Then I discover Agent Zoe has taken in some youngsters for training before they head to the academy.

I want to make it clear that I have no problem with training up young kittens. If they have a good grounding before they enter the Academy, it can only be to their advantage. I confess, I wish I had known of this before they arrived. So I must now request a form censure of Agent Zoe for not informing me of her intent.

The kitten’s arrival has thrown my new schedule off completely. I am finding it difficult not to blame them. I know they are not at fault. I have taken Zoe aside and given her a tongue-lashing. She accepted it with good grace. She is aware that I am right in my complaint against her. In any case, she has done it. We will train these youngsters. I had planned to send a copy of my new schedule along with this report. Now I must completely redo the schedule. I will get it done and to headquarters with my next report.
