Feline Freedom League Mission Report September 2023

Subject: Mission Report
I’ve discovered my students are ill prepared for the cold. So I have been teaching them basic survival skills for cold weather. They think I’m crazy. They have no idea. I told them what is coming, but I don’t think they believe me. Some of them are diligent in learning everything I can teach them. Two will not make it, I’m sad to say. I can only hope they are picked up and taken to the Academy. They will have a chance then.

I have also been teaching them to avoid notice by the humans. Those who are diligent will be fine. I wish I could be as sure about the two who, although they are good at the work, aren’t as diligent with the life lessons. I can only hope they are paying better attention than I think.

As for my observations on my charges, the female is still doing her stretching. She often leaves the habitation for what she calls a walk. I’m not sure what that is for, but she comes back sweaty, but she seems happy. Then she drinks a lot of water. I’m not sure why she does it the way she does. She sweats during the stretching as well.
The male leaves daily as I’ve reported before. When he comes back, he often complains about his feet. Wherever he goes, he must walk a lot as well. More than the female does anyway. He calls it ‘work’.

The female does ‘work’ as well, but she goes to our sleeping room and sits in a chair all night. So I was confused. ‘Work’ involves sitting in a chair and talking to oneself. That’s what the female does. She wears a strange headdress and sits in silence for a while. Then she will suddenly talk to herself and punch a small board with her fingers. Then she stops and is silent again for a while.

I don’t see how that would make the male’s feet hurt. I can only conclude that ‘work’ is different for him. That’s the only conclusion I can come to, this work stuff is different for males and females.

In conclusion, I will be ready for the upcoming conference. I will submit a requisition for the next set of class materials I will need for my students. They are all doing well, except those two, and I hope to move them to the more advanced training in the coming months.

I will continue my investigation into the nature of this work thing my human jailers seem to like doing. I am still working to get more food out of the female who seems to be my main care giver. I’m not certain what the male contributes, but it may have something to do with his ‘work’ whatever that is.

I am also compiling a report on my students’ progress to present at the conference. I am quite busy at the moment with all that I have to do. I am, I am proud to say, also working diligently on my fitness routine. I run daily.
